How did I start? (It’s day 3 of #marchmeetthemaker) 🤗
There’s 2 parts to this story!
I’ve always created art in one form or another, but I first really tried watercolor my freshman year of HS. I enjoyed how wild it was and how easy it was to correct mistakes if I made them. But I stopped for several years, mostly because I didn’t have the tools. I picked them up once I was almost out of college and I had a job at a grocery store. (Side note: that job made me pick up smoking I don’t smoke anymore tho)
This part is a little dumb, but I had met a cute guy who seemed to have similar interests in art… so I wanted to impress him and I used my watercolors! 🖌 he kind of became a muse of sorts and that’s when I really started to develop my own style with watercolor. (he’s now my husband ) Art was always a way to channel my thoughts and feelings I wasn’t able to share with people. The chaotic nature of watercolor appealed to me so much because I feel life is chaotic but so so beautiful.
Nature is a huge source of inspiration, again it’s both chaotic and beautiful. That’s how I became interested in gems and crystals. I started collecting turquoise jewelry, my favorite! And eventually it grew into what we have now.
I really enjoy being able to share some of the things I love the most with all of you! And I’m so happy you enjoy it too 🤗
Feel free to comment anything about yourself! How did you get into crystal collecting? Any hobbies you’d like to share?
